Both founders of DODS DesignWorks are electrical engineers by training. Our careers were built in industrial marking and coding — specifically inkjet systems, labeling systems, and laser systems used on commercial and industrial production lines. That background included time with a company based in Milan, Italy, plus years of international collaboration across manufacturing and print technology, before we brought that same precision to architectural wall and floor printing.

The MK-02 System, by Friankor
DODS DesignWorks operates the MK-02 direct-to-surface UV printing system, sourced from Friankor. We're a trained, direct-relationship operator of the MK-02 — not a reseller, and not a generalist print shop running one machine among several.
Friankor refers international inquiries about the MK-02 system directly to DODS DesignWorks. That relationship is a large part of why a hyper-local, St. Louis-based business regularly hears from people well outside the St. Louis area asking about the MK-02 itself.
The MK-02 runs on Epson PrecisionCore print heads — the i1600 and i3200 — the same industrial inkjet technology Epson is known for. Native 600 DPI resolution and ink droplets as small as roughly 3.5 picoliters mean smooth, photographic gradients instead of a visible dot pattern.

Projects commonly begin around $800. Final pricing depends on wall size, artwork preparation, surface type, access, installation conditions, and whether we are creating or modifying the artwork. Larger branded environments, multi-wall projects, and highly detailed artwork receive a custom quote.
What should I send for a quote?
The most helpful starting information is: a clear photo of the wall or surface, approximate width and height, city or project location, surface type, your artwork/logo/general idea, desired timeline, and any obstacles, doors, windows, outlets, or nearby corners. You do not need to have everything figured out — send what you have, and we can help determine whether the project is a good fit.
What happens after I contact you?
We review the wall, surface, artwork, dimensions, and project goals. We may ask for additional photos or measurements, then explain what is practical, identify any limitations, and prepare a project-specific recommendation or quote. There is no obligation simply to ask whether your wall can be printed.

Yes. A finished file is not required to begin the conversation. We can discuss the mood, subject, brand, room, colors, and purpose, then help turn the idea into artwork suitable for the wall and the space.

What surfaces can you print?
We can print directly onto many properly prepared surfaces, including painted drywall, brick, concrete, wood, glass, metal, ceramic tile, and some specialty materials. Every surface is evaluated for cleanliness, condition, texture, and adhesion suitability before printing.
Can you print on drywall, brick, glass, concrete, wood, metal, and tile?
Yes. Each surface may require a different preparation process, primer, ink approach, or design treatment. Smooth surfaces generally provide the most predictable result, while porous or heavily textured surfaces may show more natural variation.
Does it peel like vinyl?
No. The image is printed directly onto the surface rather than applied as a separate adhesive layer, so there are no vinyl edges, seams, or adhesive corners to lift. However, the existing wall or coating must be sound — peeling paint, moisture, grease, or damaged surfaces can still cause problems.

Yes, exterior printing may be possible on suitable surfaces. Outdoor projects require additional evaluation because weather, sunlight, moisture, temperature changes, and surface condition affect long-term performance. Exterior longevity is not guaranteed unless specifically addressed in the written project agreement.
Do you print floors?
Yes. We can print certain floors and floor-like surfaces, including concrete, ceramic tile, and other suitable materials. Floor graphics require special consideration for surface condition, texture, cleaning, traffic, and expected wear. A final seal coat using traditional sealing methods is highly recommended as a post-print treatment to protect the graphic and support long-term durability.
Health & Safety
Is it safe for healthcare, senior living, schools, and restaurants?
Our direct-to-surface process is well suited to many healthcare, senior living, educational, food-service, and commercial environments because it does not create seams, loose edges, or a raised sticker surface. Site-specific requirements, cleaning procedures, and facility approvals should still be reviewed before installation.
Does it have a strong odor?
No. The process produces next to no odor. We have completed printing in the presence of other people without odor issues or disruption. Unlike many painting or renovation activities, there is no strong lingering smell associated with the printing process. We still coordinate access to the immediate work area while printing is taking place for normal operational and equipment-safety reasons.
Artwork & Files
Do you create the artwork?
Yes. We can work with customer-provided artwork, logos, photographs, concepts, or rough ideas. We can also help develop, clean up, upscale, modify, or prepare artwork for printing. Artwork creation and extensive design work may be included in the quote or priced separately depending on the project.
Can you use my logo or photograph?
Yes, provided you own the artwork or have permission to use it. Customers are responsible for having the necessary rights to submitted logos, photographs, illustrations, or other materials. We can help prepare the file, but we cannot guarantee permission to use someone else's artwork.
What image resolution is needed?
The required resolution depends on the final print size and viewing distance. For large walls viewed from several feet away, approximately 72 PPI may be acceptable. Around 150 PPI is often a strong practical target for indoor wall printing, while 300 PPI is useful for close viewing or highly detailed artwork.
For very large or wall-scale prints, we prefer high-resolution TIFF, PNG, or vector-based files such as PDF, AI, EPS, or SVG. Vector formats scale to any size without loss of quality, and large-format raster files like TIFF hold up far better than compressed formats (such as JPEG) at scale, helping us avoid distortion, pixelation, or blurring in the finished print.

Timing depends on the wall size, number of walls, artwork readiness, surface preparation, access, and approval process. Smaller projects may be completed in a single visit, while larger commercial or multi-wall projects require additional planning. We provide a project-specific schedule after reviewing the wall and artwork.
As a general benchmark for the printing itself: a 6-foot-wide image typically takes about an hour to print, a 12-foot-wide image runs roughly 1.5–2 hours, and a 24-foot-wide image takes around 3.5 hours. In addition to print time, plan for about an hour of on-site setup before printing begins.

The surface should be clean, dry, structurally sound, and free from grease, dust, moisture, loose paint, and flaking coatings. Walls may need cleaning, patching, sanding, repainting, or primer before printing. The better the surface preparation, the more predictable the final result.

Can you print into corners?
Our printer requires a flat, accessible printing area and cannot print directly around a true inside corner. Artwork can be designed with blended transitions or planned keep-out areas so the finished result feels intentional rather than like a rectangular poster.
How close can you print to the floor, ceiling, and side edges?
Our typical planning allowance is approximately:
• 18 inches from the ceiling

Effective Date: February 28, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern all services provided by DODS DesignWorks LLC ("DDW," "Company," "we," or "us"). By commissioning services from DDW, the client ("Customer" or "you") agrees to be bound by these Terms.
1. Services
DDW provides vertical wall UV printing services for residential and commercial properties, including interior and exterior surfaces. Scope of work will be defined in the approved estimate, invoice, or written agreement.
2. Artwork & Intellectual Property
- Customer-Provided Artwork: You represent and warrant that you own or have secured all necessary rights, licenses, and permissions for any artwork, logos, graphics, or images submitted for printing.
- Indemnification: You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless DDW, including its members, employees, and agents, from any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and attorney's fees arising from intellectual property infringement or unauthorized use of submitted materials. This indemnification obligation survives completion of the project.
- Right to Refuse: DDW reserves the right to refuse any project that includes content that is illegal, infringing, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise inappropriate at DDW's sole discretion.
3. Property Authorization & Permits
Customer represents that:
- They are the legal property owner or have obtained written authorization from the property owner.
- All required landlord approvals have been secured.
- Any required municipal permits, signage approvals, HOA approvals, or zoning compliance requirements have been obtained.
DDW is not responsible for determining or securing permits unless expressly agreed to in writing.
4. Proofing & Approval
A digital proof will be provided prior to printing. Approval of the proof constitutes authorization to proceed. DDW is not responsible for:
- Errors present in the approved proof
- Spelling, grammatical, or design errors
- Layout positioning approved by Customer
Colors may vary due to wall texture, surface porosity, lighting conditions, environmental factors, and exterior weather exposure. Exact color match to digital proofs is not guaranteed.
5. Surface Conditions
Customer is responsible for ensuring that surfaces are:
- Structurally sound
- Clean, dry, and properly primed
- Free of dust, grease, moisture, or peeling paint
DDW is not liable for:
- Adhesion failure due to wall condition
- Cracking, peeling, or flaking of paint
- Damage caused by pre-existing wall defects
- Print irregularities caused by textured or porous surfaces
Exterior prints are subject to weather exposure, UV degradation, and environmental wear. Longevity is not guaranteed unless specified in writing.
6. Site Access & Utilities
Customer agrees to provide:
- Safe and unobstructed access to the work area
- Adequate electrical power
- Removal of furniture, fixtures, or obstructions unless otherwise agreed
DDW may reschedule or charge additional fees if site conditions prevent safe or efficient completion.
7. Payment Terms
A non-refundable deposit of 25% is required to schedule the project. This deposit compensates DDW for project planning, scheduling, design preparation, and equipment allocation.
The remaining balance is due immediately upon completion and prior to final acceptance. Failure to remit payment may result in collection action. Customer is responsible for reasonable collection costs and attorney's fees if recovery becomes necessary.
8. Cancellation & Rescheduling
- Deposits are non-refundable.
- Cancellations within 72 hours of the scheduled installation may incur additional fees.
- Weather-related delays for exterior jobs may require rescheduling.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Missouri law: DDW shall not be liable for any incidental, indirect, special, exemplary, or consequential damages, including but not limited to loss of business, loss of revenue, or property value diminution. In no event shall DDW's total liability exceed the amount paid for the specific project giving rise to the claim. This limitation applies regardless of the legal theory asserted.
10. Warranty Disclaimer
Except as expressly stated in writing, DDW provides services "AS IS" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. Exterior installations are inherently subject to environmental degradation.
11. Force Majeure
DDW is not liable for delays or failure to perform caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to: weather conditions, equipment failure, supply chain disruption, government orders, or acts of God.
12. Insurance & Independent Contractor Status
DDW operates as an independent contractor and maintains appropriate business insurance coverage. Nothing in this agreement creates a partnership, joint venture, or employment relationship.
13. Governing Law & Venue
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of Missouri. Any legal action shall be brought exclusively in the courts located in St. Louis County, Missouri.
14. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the approved estimate or invoice, constitute the entire agreement between the parties and supersede all prior discussions or representations. No modification shall be valid unless in writing and signed by both parties.
By commissioning services from DODS DesignWorks LLC, Customer acknowledges and agrees to these Terms of Service.
